Deakin University sought to provide an extra 320 beds of student accommodation within their existing Waurn Ponds residential precinct to meet projected demand.

Project Overview

The project provides Deakin with 32 new 10-bed student townhouses; as well as new shared facilities including:

  • A new administration building/reception for Campus Residential Services
  • A Town Hall function space suitable for presentations and functions
  • A Common Room – providing study, lounge and laundry areas.

Our Role

Root Partnerships (RP) provided Project Management and Superintendency services from schematic design through to completion.

The project was a Design and Construct project. It was agreed the project design team would not be novated to the successful contractor.

The Contractor tendered the works with its own design team and the design team engaged by Deakin was retained as a peer reviewer and advisor to RP and Deakin.
