With retail stores nearing capacity, Woolworths made the strategic decision to integrate automation into their new customer fulfilment centres (CFCs). Automation brings a range of benefits including increased ecommerce capacity, improvements to staff safety, better substitution and pick accuracy, and reduced cost of picking.

Project Overview

The 3.2Ha site in NSW, houses the new purpose-built 20,000 sqm semi-automated CFC consisting of extensive mezzanine floor area, inbound and outbound docks, office areas and amenities, as well as extensive team parking on a suspended carpark slab. The 5-star Greenstar CFC is divided into several temperature-controlled areas, served by a cutting-edge automated Order, Storage and Retrieval (OSR) system.

Our Role

RP Infrastructure (RPI) was initially engaged to oversee the project from the builder’s contract execution, providing leadership for the base building works and superintendent services throughout delivery. Recognising RPI’s expertise and commitment to seamless project execution, our engagement was extended beyond the base building works to support the commissioning of automation systems and manage additional internal fit-outs.
