Presbyterian Ladies’ College
Partnership spanning over years
Featured projects
RP Infrastructure (RPI) has a long association with the Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) – a leading girls’ school in Melbourne. Over many years the school has engaged RP to redevelop a number of its spaces and buildings.
Overview
In line with PLC’s vision for the future, the Burwood campus’ facilities have been redeveloped to transform the College into a leading 21st Century learning and experiential school.
Our Role
Since 2008 RPI has project managed: the redevelopment of the senior school Learning Resource Centre (library, IT and AV departments); the Year 7 Centre (catering for year-level activities, group events, and casual areas); a complete re-fit of the senior school Science Precinct (state-of-the-art laboratories, scientific and technical equipment); a re-build of the Art Precinct (offices, research library and student learning spaces); and the Performing Arts Centre which accommodates performance spaces combining state-of-the-art design with leading acoustic technology.
RPI has assisted with the development of a new 10-year Master Plan for the Burwood campus and has embarked on the roll-out of identified key strategic projects, which include project managing the design, procurement and construction phases of the Sports, Aquatic, Fitness and Function Centre; extension to the Early Learning Centre; continued upgrades to the Senior School; and the development of a landscape masterplan to align with the integrated building program.
Key Challenge
Working within the rigid timetable of the school year and corralling works to after-hours or school holidays can throw up challenges. However, the long and trusted relationship RP has with the school and its project partners has enabled the teams to work around any constraints and deliver all projects on time.
