The RP Infrastructure (RPI) team was engaged to replace an incumbent project manager to resolve all outstanding issues associated with Separable Portion One (SP1) and complete the full scope of Separable Portion Two (SP2) on Stage Three of the hospital refurbishment.

Project Overview

RPI provided project management, programming, site, and principal representative duties across the scope of works for Stage Three SP1, which involved managing DLP on completed works, resolving ongoing issues such as HV system modifications, installing and customising the Integrated Patient System (combined entertainment and clinical information) software, and providing mobile coverage for Block D and an ultimate campus wide solution (Distributed Antenna System – DAS).

Stage Three SP2 included work on Block A (Ground Floor – MEH, Levels 1 – Health Informatics, Level 3 – Education), Block B (Ground Floor, Level 1 – SOPD, Level 2 – Paediatrics including an external playground area, Level 3 – Surgery, Level 4 – Allied Health, Level 5 East – Biomedical Technology Services, Level 5 West – Respiratory, Level 6 – Renal), Block C (Ground Floor – Anatomical Pathology, Medical Imaging Department, Support/Environmental Services, Level 1 – Centralised Sterile Supply Department and Perioperative area, Level 2 – Women’s Divisional Offices), and external landscaping, as well as FF&E Management.

Our Role

The RPI team took a risk-based approach to the project and undertook extensive stakeholder engagement and risk workshops to create a Risk Management Plan and effective decanting strategy that minimised disruption and risk to staff, patients and visitors.

We also established a communication conduit for contact with a site-based representative tasked with managing the day-to-day works and interface requirements.
