After more than five years leading RP Infrastructure (RPI), David Gundy has made the decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer from January 2025 to focus on strategic consulting for transformative projects within the aviation sector.
RPI Board Chair and Founder Peter Root sincerely thanked David for his leadership throughout this period of unprecedented growth for the firm, as well as his commitment to the company for over 26 years.
“David’s significant experience within the business prior to taking on the role of CEO has ensured RP Infrastructure has far exceeded its 5-year growth plan, while strengthening its culture and service offering,” said Peter.
“We thank David for the tremendous long-term value he has provided to RPI and its clients, and we look forward to his continued guidance as he moves to a strategic project consulting role with RPI.”
David joined RPI in 1998, becoming a Director in 2010 and the CEO in 2019. In 2022, the company announced its partnership with InfraSol Group, and rebranded to RP Infrastructure, signalling to the market our expertise across the infrastructure spectrum. In April 2023 RPI announced its partnership with Ranbury Management Group, with the teams joining together under the RPI brand in July this year.
“These last five years have been rewarding and challenging as we have integrated three businesses, more than doubled in size and set our focus on national expansion,” said David.
“While my decision to move back into strategic consulting for major projects is a personal one, it gives the business the opportunity to put in place a CEO who will lead RPI through its next growth phase.”
The Board recently announced to shareholders and staff that RPI National Director Brett Magnussen has been promoted to the Chief Executive role.
“As the former Managing Director of Ranbury and current National Director of Project Management for RPI, Brett has been integral to the successful integration of the businesses as well as the strong performance of the group,” said Peter.
“I congratulate Brett on stepping into the CEO position,” added David. “Brett’s leadership has contributed significantly to RPI’s recent success, and he is well-placed to ensure our national growth continues.”
Brett will take on RPI’s Chief Executive role from 1 January 2025.
