RPI Sponsors Property Council QLD Housing Breakfast 2024

“How are local councils responding to the housing crisis?”

On June 4th, the Property Council Australia Queensland held a breakfast, sponsored by RP Infrastructure (RPI), that focused on how councils are responding to the housing crisis.

The event provided a platform for mayors from three of the fastest-growing cities in South East Queensland to discuss initiatives and policies required to address the housing crisis – City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery, Ipswich City Council Mayor Teresa Harding and Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven.

The need for expanded land releases for development and a faster planning approval and amendment process was discussed, along with the importance of greater collaboration with industry stakeholders and other levels of government.

At RPI, our interest has always been to ensure our projects successfully support the needs of our clients’ communities. We value conversations such as these on how best to address the housing situation in Australia to ensure well-planned, successful communities for us all to enjoy.

We would like to thank all attendees for joining us at the event, including keynote Julie Saunders and moderator Taryn Paris, as well as the team Property Council of Australia Queensland.
