Root Partnerships is pleased to welcome Vanessa Weedon to the team as an Associate Director working across a number of project portfolios in NSW including Civic & Community, Justice and Western Sydney.
Vanessa is no stranger to Root Partnerships, having worked alongside Peter Root for four years, as his first employee in the early days of Peter Root & Associates.
Root Partnerships CEO David Gundy says: “Vanessa has forged a very successful and interesting career both in Australia and overseas. She brings a depth of experience in strategic planning and delivery to our organisation, and she excels in managing complex multi-stakeholder project environments. We’re thrilled to have her back on the team.”
Following her time at Peter Root & Associates, Vanessa moved to Incoll Management, providing strategic advice to the Department of Finance on the $65 million National Portrait Gallery and on the Arts and Cultural Precinct of the Kingston foreshore in Canberra.
From there Vanessa joined the United Nations Development Program Vietnam as the Project Director for the Green One UN House. The work there involved highly complex stakeholder management across multiple donor countries and Vietnamese government departments plus 16 UN organisations and their headquarters in Nairobi, Rome, Geneva and New York.
Vanessa has also worked at the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and prior to joining Root Partnerships was Head of Projects at the Australian National Maritime Museum where she was responsible for the development and delivery of the site renewal masterplan and major exhibition programs.
Vanessa holds a Master of Arts in the History of Architecture & Urbanism from Cornell University, US, and a Master of Arts in Conservation Studies from the University of York, UK.
