Glen Innes Hospital Redevelopment

The NSW Government has committed $50 million to redevelop Glen Innes Hospital, delivering enhanced healthcare facilities for the community and surrounding region.
Project Overview
The redevelopment will include the construction of a new acute services building on the existing hospital campus. This facility will accommodate a new Emergency Department, Medical Imaging, Mortuary, Ambulance Bays, Reception, a new main entry, and upgraded car parking with access from Ferguson Street.
Our Role
RP Infrastructure (RPI) has been engaged to provide project management and facility planning services. Our scope includes the planning and delivery phase, including design finalisation, authority approvals, consultant coordination, construction administration and commissioning and handover, in close partnership with Health Infrastructure NSW.
Key Challenge
A central challenge of the project is delivering the main works within a live and operational hospital environment. To mitigate disruption, consultation with key stakeholders has informed the development of detailed design, staging, and decanting strategies.
To facilitate the project, early works will include the construction of new ambulance bays and dedicated access lifts to maintain uninterrupted entry to the existing Emergency Department. In addition, temporary facilities have been planned to ensure the continuity of hospital operations throughout the construction period.
Ongoing collaboration between RP Infrastructure, Health Infrastructure NSW, Hunter New England Local Health District, and a wide range of stakeholders will be vital to the successful delivery of the redevelopment.
