Everton Park Link Road

Unlocking safer, smoother journeys through Everton Park
At a glance
The Everton Park Link Road project in Queensland is improving safety and reducing congestion at one of Brisbane’s busy suburban intersections.
Delivered as part of the Queensland Government’s wider transport and roads investment program, the project created a new connection between South Pine Road, north of Kedron Brook Creek, and Stafford Road, east of Mountridge Street.
The link road helps relieve pressure at the Stafford Road and South Pine Road intersection by giving traffic more green time and improving local movement through Everton Park. The project also delivered wider footpaths and an additional crossing at the Everton Park Road intersection, supporting safer and more accessible journeys for pedestrians and road users. The project delivered a practical, value-for-money upgrade that strengthened local connectivity, improved safety and supported smoother journeys for the community.
The Challenge
Despite the project had a relatively small budget, it came with complex delivery challenges that required careful coordination and strong contract administration.
Works were delivered in a busy live road environment, with high traffic volumes on both South Pine Road and Stafford Road. Construction needed to be managed in a way that maintained safety, reduced disruption and kept people moving through an important local corridor.
The project also faced several technical and site constraints, including conflicts with public utility plant, incorrect boundary information and poor ground conditions. These issues had the potential to affect cost, program and construction sequencing if they were not identified and resolved quickly. The nearby environmentally sensitive Kedron Brook added another layer of complexity, requiring the project team to balance efficient delivery with careful management of surrounding environmental and community considerations.
Our solution
RP Infrastructure provided contract administration and verification services as part of a blended team with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Our team helped the client manage delivery risk, maintain momentum and create a collaborative environment where issues could be resolved quickly and practically.
We delivered the services as a lump sum fixed fee, giving the client greater cost certainty and value for money. Our team also completed detailed schedule analysis within the fixed fee, helping the project team understand program risks and make informed decisions throughout delivery.
RP Infrastructure coordinated closely with the client and project team to manage construction issues at the lowest practical level, reducing the need for escalation and helping maintain progress on site. This approach supported faster decision-making, stronger collaboration and greater confidence across the team.
Beyond delivery support, we helped build client capability by providing guidance and training to contract administration staff and project engineers. This strengthened the blended team approach and supported long-term capability within the client team. The result was a well-coordinated project delivered 6 months ahead of schedule and within budget, providing safer, smoother and more reliable movement for the Everton Park community.
“This project shows the value of strong coordination and practical contract administration. By working as one team, we helped the client manage complexity, reduce risk and deliver a better outcome for the community,”
