Cleveland – Redland Bay Road Duplication (Magnolia to Anita Streets)

Delivering better connectivity for the Redlands community
At a glance
The Cleveland–Redland Bay Road Duplication widened a key section of road from 2 to 4 lanes between Magnolia Parade and Anita Street in Victoria Point, Queensland.
Delivered for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the project improved a critical north-south transport link between Cleveland and Redland Bay, helping to support growth across the Redlands region while improving safety and traffic flow for road users.
Delivered under a Transport Infrastructure Contract – Construct Only Schedule of Rates contract, the upgrade included road widening, intersection improvements, active transport infrastructure and utility relocations. Works were carefully staged to keep traffic moving and maintain access for nearby road users, Victoria Point State High School, neighbouring residents and the adjacent shopping precinct throughout construction.

The Challenge
The Department of Transport and Main Roads needed to deliver a major road upgrade in a busy urban environment while keeping the community moving.
The corridor runs alongside Victoria Point State High School, retirement villages and a major shopping precinct, with high volumes of traffic, pedestrians and cyclists using the route every day. Maintaining safe access and minimising disruption throughout construction was a key priority. The project also involved relocating multiple utility services, creating complex interfaces that required careful coordination across utility providers while keeping works progressing safely and efficiently.
Our solution
RP Infrastructure partnered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads to support the successful delivery of the Cleveland–Redland Bay Road Duplication, providing contract administration, verification services and utility relocation management throughout the project.
We coordinated construction staging, managed critical stakeholder and utility interfaces, and worked closely with contractors and service providers to keep the project moving while minimising impacts on road users, local businesses and the surrounding community.
By proactively identifying risks and implementing practical engineering solutions, we helped reduce potential cost and schedule impacts while maintaining safety, quality and design outcomes. Through a collaborative and solutions-focused approach, we helped successfully deliver a safer, higher-capacity transport corridor that improves traffic flow, enhances connectivity and supports the growing Redlands community for years to come.
“Successfully delivering this upgrade required strong coordination, proactive stakeholder engagement and a focus on practical solutions. By working closely with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, contractors and utility providers, we helped navigate project complexity, minimise disruption and deliver a safer, more efficient transport corridor for the Redlands community,”
