Diving Western Australia Dryland Dive Centre

Elevating Western Australia’s dry diving facilities to international standards
At a glance
Diving Western Australia’s Dryland Dive Centre elevates Perth’s diving facilities to international standards, providing a world-class training environment for homegrown athletes on their journeys toward Commonwealth and Olympic success.
Located at the Perth High-Performance Centre, this facility is designed to be flexible, allowing individuals of all ages and abilities to experience the thrill of diving and fostering greater interest in the sport.
Built to meet international aquatic (FINA) standards, the centre enables athletes and coaches to refine diving techniques. Training in the dryland facility allows divers to practice up to 10 times the number of repetitions compared to traditional water-based training.
The facility features:
- 6 springboards
- 3 trampolines
- 6 harnesses
- A sprung floor
- A foam pit
- A weights area located directly adjacent to the diving pool
- 3 video replay systems to allow coaches and divers to analyse techniques.
The Challenge
The project required the delivery of a flexible, international-standard dryland diving facility that would meet FINA competition and training standards while enabling people of all ages and abilities to experience the sport. Located alongside operational indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities at HBF Stadium, the project also demanded careful site planning, staging and logistical coordination to maintain safe public access and minimise disruption throughout construction.
A further challenge was integrating the new facility with the existing building while coordinating multiple specialist suppliers engaged directly by VenuesWest. Careful planning and programming were essential to ensure highly specialised diving, training and audiovisual systems were successfully installed, tested and commissioned within a constrained construction program.
Our solution
DCWC (now part of RP Infrastructure) provided Project Management and Superintendency services on behalf of VenuesWest, delivering a flexible, international-standard dryland diving facility at HBF Stadium.
The Bruce Prance Dryland Centre provides a high-performance training environment where athletes can undertake up to 10 times more training repetitions than traditional water-based programs, supporting skill development and performance. Through careful planning, stakeholder coordination and staged delivery, the project successfully integrated the new facility with the existing venue while maintaining operations and creating one of Australia’s leading dryland diving facilities.
“We’re proud to have contributed to the delivery of this world-class training environment, which will support the development of Australia’s next generation of divers and strengthen the country’s pathway to success on the Commonwealth, Olympic and international stage for years to come. High-performance sporting facilities play a vital role in enabling athletes to realise their full potential while fostering greater participation and engagement within the wider community.”
